Christmas Banner

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! It's my turn to share here and over at SHE'S A SASSY LADY   so I'm showcasing a Christmas banner I made to hang over our fireplace!  I want to say, right up front, that I apologize for the shortness of this post but in the last month, we moved into our new house and hosted several Christmas gatherings and I just started a new job..... so my crafting has been kind of hit or miss! Here is the banner: I used Art Deco for the font - 4"-  and Pretty Pennants for the pennant shape - 6".  This banner was so easy to put together and I just love how it looks over our fireplace!  I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and I pray you all have a blessed New Year!  Well, short and sweet but I hope you enjoyed my project! See ya' next month! JAVA JEN

Ahoy, It's a Boy!

Hello everyone! It's my turn to share over at   SHE'S A SASSY LADY !  It's my pleasure to share some decorations that I made for a friend's baby shower! Here are the pics of our nautical-themed shower: The banner shape is from the Art Philosophy cartridge. The other nautical images are from the Lite cartridge Splish Splash. The font for "ASHER EDAN" is from Art Deco.  We punched holes in the mason jar lids to make unique drink containers and made tags, (also from Splish Splash), to decorate the jars.  Close ups. What's a party without cupcake toppers! :-) This nautical theme turned out to be so much fun! Close up of the tags! If you want more details, like paper used, cut sizes, etc., I will be posting more details on my blog shortly. We just moved into our new house and I have been buried in unpacking and getting our house all set up so I need to look back and get all of those details!  Thanks so much for stoppin...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day. everyone!! I'm so tickled to share with everyone here,  everyone over at  SHE'S A SASSY LADY  and over at  CRICUT IS CLOSE TO MY HEART ! I made some photo props for my daughter to use in taking Valentine pics of our grandsons and some friends! They turned out so good - but the stars of these pics are, most definitely, our grandsons! They just melt my heart! Sorry if I'm gushing here, but they just complete my world!! We are truly blessed! I'll post a few pics and then give some details about what cartridges, cuts and sizes were used to make the props. Remember, you can click on the pictures to view them bigger!  By the way, our daughter took these amazing pictures! Our 5 1/2 month old grandson, Truman! Yes, he's a big boy and oh, so kissable!! Our 21-month old grandson, Seth, who can be so serious and so funny at the same time! Seth and our 26-month old grandson, Langston, who are great play pals! This picture sequence is hi...

Photography Background Decorations

Hello everyone! Today, I'm sharing with you some decorations that I made for my daughter to use on her photography background for Christmas pictures.  (She is an amazing photographer!)  I was so pleased with how they turned out and they looked amazing in her pictures, if I do say so myself! :-) Here is a finished picture and then I will share details: Cricut cartridges used: Pretty Pennants Art Deco When It's Cold Outside I decided to keep the colors neutral since, with Christmas pictures, the subjects clothing tends to be colorful! :-)  Here are a few close-ups: I backed the letters with gold foil paper. I love how it looks as it peeks through! The detail of the snowflakes looks great on the black background! I used mini clothespins to hold the banner pieces on the twine. When my daughter was done and took the backdrop down,  I hung the banner on our wall to display throughout the season! I plan on using it next year too, but I...
